Elf Goodbye.

As promised Elf came back from the North pole with a prize for their lovely colouring. He knows how much they love playing with their Happyland toys so bought them a little set of the Queen.
They really enjoyed their new toy and they immediately added it to their collection.

Santa as left another note for Abigail and Lucy complimenting them on their good behaviour since his last note and returning Abigail's stocking.
Abigail was very pleased with its return and was very excited about Santa filling it with presents.

Santa's arrival was also met with a tinge of sadness that our friend Elf had to go back to the North pole.

As Elf didn't need his magic tonight the girls were able to give him a big hug goodnight and a kiss goodbye.

Until next year our little Elf!  We will miss you x

Colouring challenge

Last night Elf bought the girls a colouring challenge. They were very excited and set to work straight away. He left them a little note saying
Colour my clothes,
Colour my face,
Then leave your page on the fireplace.

Colour my hat,
Colour my eyes,
Do a good job and i'll leave a surprise!

Santa also delivered a note last night. He wrote to Abigail as he was very upset with her bad behaviour and had taken her stocking away meaning he wouldn't be able to deliver any presents to her. He told her that if her behaviour improved then he would be able to return her stocking and that Elf would be keeping a closer eye on her.

Gingerbread house

The girls were very excited at finding Elf this morning as he had bought us a gift. The girls were alittle unsure as to what it was at first but upon opening the box they discovered it was something to do with cooking! Once I had explained it to them they were very excited to make their gingerbread house.
Abigail did pick up that Elf had been to Sainsbury's during the night too!

Update- Lucy's patience didn't quite stretch pass mixing the dough but it turned into a lovely one on one time with Abigail. She really enjoyed making her house and is very proud with the final result.

Shining star

Last night Elf decided to get a good view of the girls so climbed up onto the hanging star decoration.
He did get a good view and stayed there all day watching the girls and making sure they ate their dinners well.
It actually took the girls a bit longer to find him this morning.

Special delivery

This morning Elf was discovered hanging upside down from the letterbox!
We are not quite sure if he was coming back in through the letterbox or was pretending to be a posted Christmas card. The girls enjoyed it either way :)

The post could also be read as the night that I had a night out with a few wines and forgot to move him!Daddy saved the day before leaving for work! :O

Poorly Elf

This morning the girls found a poorly Elf. He was wearing a dressing gown and tucked up with a blanket to keep him warm.
He had some medicine, tissues and the thermometer. Poor Elf!  I wonder if Elf flu is as bad as Man flu!?

Christmas packed Lunch

Well Elf had been very busy last night. He had made Abigail packed lunch for her ready for school this morning.
He had given her lots of christmas treats as it was her school christmas lunch today too. He had cut her Sandwiches into star shapes, given her Snowman shaped marshmallows and cute little christmas shaped shortbread biscuits. Abigail was very excited and couldn't wait to eat them!
He had also decorated her lunchbox too!  He had covered it in red foil bows and added bows to all the food pots and her drink bottle. If that wasn't enough he also added a few jingly bells that he must have brought back from the North Pole!
Abigail couldn't wait to show all her school friends her special lunch!

Cake chaos!

Well Elf was VERY cheeky last night!  He had helped himself to some of our yummy chocolate cake whilst no one was looking!
He was tucking in so he must of enjoyed Mummy's baking. So much so that he even managed to get it all round his face!
The girls thought this was really funny and Lucy said he needed to wipe his face.  She wasn't impressed that he had made such a mess!
Naughty Elf! :)

This morning Elf was discovered wrapped in paper chains that he had been busy making. He had bought lots so that the girls could try making some too. They really enjoyed making the chains and its made their bedrooms look very festive indeed!

Tangled !

The girls were super excited this morning as they followed a small glow down the dark hallway into the lounge. There they found our Elf all wrapped up in coloured fairy lights.
We think he may have been trying to put the up somewhere to help decorate the house but got himself into a bit of a tangle instead!

Dino Race

Elf had made friends with the dinosaurs last night. The girls discovered him having a ride on a T-rex!
The girls thought Elf was being very brave as the dinosaurs might eat him!

As the dinosaurs where all lined up there was speculation that they may have been having races.  I wonder if Elf had won any races!

After dinner treat

This morning Elf was found bearing gifts! I had returned from the North pole with a packet of chocolate coins and a little note saying ' These special chocolate coins are and after dinner treat, But only if you eat all your potato's, carrot and meat.'

Of course the girls were very excited by this and were looking forward to the chocolate. The incentive to eat dinner seemed to work though with 2 rather clean plates! :)

Elf Exercise!

I think Elf was leaving a reminder to Mummy (me) last night as he was found using my hand weights and yoga mat to do abit of exercise. I think he was trying to remind me to use them again! ( its been a while!)
The girls thought it was funny that he was using mummy's things and that he was a very strong elf using the weights.

A little Reminder!

Today Elf had left the girls a message using their magnetic scribbler. Abigail read aloud what he had written, 'Remember to be good'.
Elf knows that their behaviour hasnt been great lately and thought that they needed a little reminder.
Now lets see if they listen to Elf!

DIY decorations

This morning Elf was found bearing gifts!
He had returned from the north pole with Paint yourself Suncatcher decorations for the girls. Now Abigail can read she picked up quite quickly that Elf had been to Hobbycraft on his flight back here from the North pole! :)  How he managed to shop at that time of night I dread to think!

The girls loved painting their decorations and are looking forward to seeing them hanging in the windows (when the 3 inches thick paint they used finally dries!)

Potty time

Elf was spotted straight away this morning as he was found in the bathroom on the potty!
He had placed his very own pink potty next to Lucy's froggy potty and was 'busy'!

The girls thought this was hilarious and wondered if he was doing a 'wee' or a 'number2' :)

Please excuse the rubbish quality photo's for this post! It was late and my camera had no charge so I quickly used my iphone.

Messages from Santa

Last night Elf bought back some very special video messages from Santa.
The girls found him on my laptop and were very excited watching their messages.
This is the fantastic website that I used The personalised video's are great with lots of details about the girls and you can even add photos of them onto the videos too.
Everytime Santa said the girls names their little faces beamed and it was lovely to see. :)

Santa reminded them that they are on the nice list but they both need to try abit harder to listen to Mummy and not have tantrums to make sure they stay on that list. Hmmm... We will see!

Cross dressing Elf

Nobody was quite sure of Elf's antics last night but the girls found him sitting with Barbie wearing one of her dresses, a tiara and a silver necklace. We think that barbie was giving Elf a makeover. The girls thought this was very funny indeed and thought he was a very silly elf.

We all agreed though that Elf made a rather fetching Elfette!  :)

Helicopter hitch hiking!

We woke this morning to find Elf hitching a ride on a Helicopter in the lounge!!
The girls weren't sure if he was just playing or decided to be a lazy elf and hitch a ride back to the North pole last night instead.
Those of you with small children yourselves may recognise the Helicopter pilot being Miss Rabbit from Peppa Pig. The girls were a little put out that Peppa wasn't going for a fly too. ( Note to self!!)

Tree Climbing

This morning Elf was discovered climbing the Christmas tree! The girls thought this was funny and had their own reasons why. Abigail thought he was climbing to the top to sit right at the top with the star, where as Lucy was more concerned that he may be trying to steal the baubles!

Fun at the fair

Well after his visit to North pole to deliver his report to Santa, Elf decided to discover what new toys the girls had since his last visit. He was delighted to discover the Happyland toys.
Elf took a liking to the funfair toys and set them up for a play. When the girls came down this morning they discovered him having a ride on the ferris wheel! It took the girls a few minutes to find Elf as the happyland is just the right size for him.

He's Back!

Well its flown by but its that time of year again!
Time for our little visitor to come and perform his watching duties. The girls have been very excited about Elf's return so were thrilled to see him sat on the fireplace this morning. He had travelled with his special box containing his book and also his dvd.

The girls loved watching the DVD which re-enforced the no touching rule and how Elf's magic powers will disappear. Its a lovely short film that the girls enjoyed watching first thing this morning and loved seeing Elf and all his pals in the North pole.
Of course the book was enjoyed too and the girls sat nicely sharing the story . Elf is working his magic over them already :)
